I'm not sure how Gary managed to review ALL the Kindle 2 covers BEFORE they were available, but I only have this one and I like it. It seems waterproof, it adds a little cushion without too much bulk, and its not obvious what I'm reading. I almost got the $99 leather case for its elegence, but opted for the practicality of this one. If youre looking for the absolute slimmest, look elsewhere, but for throwing it in a bag, this is the best choice. (I'm clumsy, and probably need the extra padding.)

My brief video review of the Patagonia Kindle 2 case. The framing is a little off in the video (sorry about that), but I think the video will give you a good idea of this case.

As a Kindle owner for the past 10 months, I would say this this product is not necessary. Kindle does not have an interactive screen, so you don't need to be touching or writing on it. I can also testify that the screen itself is very tough, as the arm that held up the middle of the awning on our travel trailer fell directly onto it from a height of at least 6 feet last May. The screen was not damaged, although there is a small mark at the point of impact underneath. It affects the display for about a single letter (the ink techonlogy), but the screen itself was not damaged. This baby is tough.

I think Amazon should include this product or one similar with the Kindle. I was nervous about the screen getting scratched and finally got smart and looked for a screen protector. It did take a few tries to get the bubbles to the edge of the screen, but I'm really pleased with it and pleased with how it cuts down on the glare. It is easily removed if you need to clean it or want to work bubbles out. I really do recommend this product to Kindle owners.

This is an extremely fun toy. I have a 2 year old, 5 year old and 6 year old. All three love the slide and so do the neighbors as well. My wife has also gotten on the slide and enjoyed the fun a few times. I weigh a bit more then her and have not dared get on the slide yet. If you look at the promotional pictures of the slide and the happy faces believe me that it is really that fun.

Pros:
1. Great fun.
2. Seems pretty durable.
3. Fills with air very quickly.
4. Colorful.
5. Comes with plenty of repair patches.
6. Repair kit works!
7. Moderate water usage. Not much more then a sprinkler head while the water is running.

Cons:
1. Difficult to assemble or put away as one adult. Needs two to handle easily.
2. Does take a long time to dry.
3. Bulky. It does not fold back into anything the size that could fit in the included bag.
4. Customer support is non-existent. I emailed weeks ago with a question and no answer yet. Also I have called several times and the phone number has always been busy. Not good.
5. Pool takes an eternity to fill up if only used with the sprayers.

Another reviewer recommended storing in a plastic bucket. Not a bad idea. I use a 80 gallon Rubbermaid Seat and Store unit. This seems perfect.

- In the book world, it's hard to explain "the buzz." What causes word of mouth to start spreading? What turns an unknown author and novel into a surprise bestseller? Even more inexplicable for the book snobs is when a story fails to meet their literary standards and yet touches the masses in an undeniable way.

"The Shack" is the buzz book of the past few months. I hadn't even heard of it in November, but by the end of December I'd had relatives, friends, and online pals from across the country telling me I "had" to read this one. I've been burned by such recommendations in the past, particularly in relation to spiritually oriented titles. (Can anyone say "The Prayer of Jabez" and "Left Behind"?), but I was willing to give it a shot.

William P. Young's book has an intriguing premise. Years ago, a father name MacKenzie Phillips took his children camping and lost one of them to a man who has kidnapped and killed others. Mack has grieved since then. His marriage has struggled. Understandably, his relationship with God has suffered. Then, one wintry day, he receives a note in his mailbox inviting him back to the woods, to the shack in which his daughter's dress and bloodstains were found. The note, it would seem, is from God.

From this simple yet effective premise, Young leads Mack Phillips back to his point of despair and anger. The encounters he then has with God there in "The Shack" serve as thought-provoking moments for both Mack and the reader. This is not the God of stodgy Sunday school classes. This is not a flannel-graph Jesus. This is not limited to a fluttering dove of the Holy Spirit. The descriptions here are startling, while remaining true to the nature of God's love and grace as portrayed through Scripture. Not only are they startling, they're wise and moving and beautiful.

Some might argue that "The Shack" has little theology or accuracy to it, but the very argument is what Young is trying to melt away. I earned a Bachelor's from a Bible college, and the majority of Mack's godly encounters could be wrapped up in biblical theology: redemption, grace, forgiveness, propitiation, etc. Do I agree with every line of the book? Not necessarily. Yet, while never sounding like trite religion (because they're not and never should be!), the words spoken by God in this book are full of vibrancy and life.

Is it the best crafted novel ever? No. In many ways, it could be encapsulated in a non-fiction treatise. However, in sharing this remarkable tale in a fictional form, Young has breathed wonder and wisdom into a story that will continue to buzz around for years to come.

-- To the many 5 star reviewers, may I respectfully ask you to step back, take a deep breath, and then give this book a second look, viewing it only through the prism of Scripture? Upon sober reflection, perhaps you will discern that this IS an amazing book and THE book for you if, and only if...

You want to recreate God in your own image;

You find Isaiah's portrayal of a holy God seated upon His throne to be a disturbing image;

You would prefer to metaphorically cast God the Father as a loving and large black woman named "Papa," Jesus as a laid back and friendly Middle Eastern man, and the Holy Spirit as a calm and cool Asian woman;

You want a God so small that you and she/he/she can just hang out together as best buddies;

You regard the Bible as an extremely biased, narrow-minded, and insufficient revelation of God in leather binding with "guilt edges" (page 65);

You therefore believe that God talks to people today, and that whatever she or he says to people trumps biblical truth (page 66);

You believe that God is never to be feared (page 90);

You believe that Jesus' miracles do not affirm Him as God, but prove only "that Jesus is truly human" (page 99);

You want a God who does not hold people accountable for, nor punishes sin (page 119);

You want a God who does not demand that you submit to him or her, but one who submits to YOU (page 145);

You want a God who accepts everyone -- "Buddhists...Muslims, bankers and bookies" -- as his or her children no matter what their beliefs or behavior, and that Jesus has "no desire to make them Christian" (page 223);

You believe that Jesus lied when He warned, "Broad is the road that leads to destruction" (Matthew 7:13), because in The Shack Jesus says, "Most roads don't lead anywhere" (page 182).

Make no mistake... 90% of this book is spot on. But isn't that exactly what makes its 10% error so insidiously deadly? Look, we can allegorize many things, but we don't mess with the Trinity. This book is a Trojan horse subtly infiltrating the Christian community -- one that makes our God extremely small and completely manageable, a God who, in the final analysis, is no God at all.

-- My journey with DSLRs began back in 2003 with the original Digital Rebel. DSLRs changed my photography for the better like nothing else. Five years and some 25,000 shots later, it's still going strong. Along the way I upgraded to the Canon 30D, which is a fantastic camera as well. When the 40D was announced, I decided to wait until the 50D sometime in 2009, but wanted a newer backup/second body for my photography needs. So when the XSi/450D was announced, it sounded like a perfect fit for my needs.

I got it from Amazon.com three days ago, and have given it a pretty good workout since then, having shot about 650 shots under a variety of shooting conditions and with a number of different Canon and third-party lenses. The following are my impressions.

The build feels very good. The camera feels wonderfully light yet well built. I'm 6ft tall with average size hands, and the camera feels good in my hand. The battery grip, to me, defeats the purpose of having a small, light DSLR, so I opted for a Hakuba/Opteka grip (it's a plate that screws into the tripod socket that enables you to use the excellent Canon E1 hand strap with it) and I couldn't be happier. I'm not a fan of neck straps, so this works well for me (see the uploaded photo for the configuration).

Most of the menu buttons on the back feel different from the ones on the original Digital Rebel and the 30D; the XSi buttons feel more tactile and have a definite "click" to them when you press them. The exception are the Exposure Lock (*) and AF selector buttons, which have retained the deeper, softer feel of the older cameras. Just different, not better or worse, for me.

The LCD is now 3" with 230K pixels. The playback images look great, and probably because of the higher resolution of the sensor, there's a very slight delay when you zoom in to 10x while the image loads and displays properly. People coming from other cameras or brands might not even notice it--I only did so because of the difference between it and my two other Canon DSLRs (which have lower resolution sensors). The viewing angle of the LCD screen (how clearly you can see the screen from side and up and down) is excellent; you can still see the screen holding the camera almost straight up for an overhead shot (more on this later). I'd estimate the viewing angle is about 160-170 degrees both horizontally and vertically.

The Digital Rebel has a separate status screen above the main LCD screen, and the 30D had one on top of the camera, so I wasn't sure if I was going to like the big LCD acting as the status screen and no top screen. I'm happy to say that this arrangement works well, at least for me. The back screen makes it really easy to take all the settings at a glance. The viewfinder is much larger and brighter than that in the Digital Rebel. A humongously welcome feature for me is the always displayed ISO value in the viewfinder.

The camera is only 1/2 of the image quality equation, the other being the lenses being used. Coupled with my favorite lens, the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L telephoto lens, the XSi turns out fantastic images. The supplied kit lens is very light and compact for being an image stabilized lens, and turns out good performance. The IS is certainly very useful.

Two features that used to be missing from the Digital Rebels and found in the more expensive DSLRs are now featured in the XSi: spot-metering and flash exposure compensation (these may have been available in the previous Digital Rebel model, the XTi, as well). The inclusion of those two features make the camera a much more complete and compelling photographic tool. The timer function now has a custom mode, where it'll count down from 10 seconds then take a number of shots (specified by you) in succession. No more running back and forth to reset the timer after each shot! There's also the traditional 2-second timer.

Let's talk for a minute about sensor and the ISO values. XSi/450D has five ISO values you can choose: 100 (best image quality), 200, 400, 800, and 1600. Higher ISO increases the camera sensor's sensitivity to light, thus you can achieve faster shutter speeeds for a given lighting condition. However, the trade-off is that the sensor "noise" (think grain for film photography) increases with higher ISO, so you get a degraded image quality in return for less blurred photos from hand shakes (thanks to faster shutter speed). This may come in handy in situations where flash photography is not permitted, such as a museum or a concert or theater. HOWEVER, compared to point-and-shoot digital cameras, the larger sensors of DSLRs, including the XSi, means that even at ISO 800 and 1600 you get very usable images right out of the camera. Running the images shot at those ISO settings through any number of third-party noise reduction software will improve them even further.

This ties in to another very useful feature of the XSi/450D that makes life easier for the photographer: The Auto ISO function. By default, Auto ISO sets the ISO (the sensor sensitivity to light) between 100 and 800 (by using custom functions, this can be changed to 200-1600). If you are, for example, shooting your kid's indoor basketball game and you know that you need a shutter speed of at least 1/200 sec to "freeze" the action, then you can set the camera to Tv (shutter priority mode) and set the value to 1/200, and set the camera to Auto ISO. Then the camera will match the aperture and the ISO to achieve proper exposure at that shutter speed. With my other DSLRs, setting the camera to shutter priority only allowed the camera to adjust the aperture value; ISO setting had to be adjusted manually. With the XSi/450D, the ability for the camera to adjust the ISO value automatically makes it one less thing for you the photographer to worry about.

I've only tested the Live View function to see how it works, but I can already see how useful it's going to be in studio and macro shootings. Just a note, you can't half-press the shutter to autofocus while in Live View mode. You can either manual focus, or use one of the two autofocus methods, quick (the mirror flips up, the LCD goes dark for a short while, and flips down with focus locked) or live (the camera uses the LCD's contrast detection to achieve the focus--this method is slower than the quick method), both by pressing the exposure lock button (*) while in the Live View mode. Using either the RS-60E3 wired remote or RC-1 wireless remote in Live View mode will ONLY trigger the shutter, and has no bearing on focusing.

Some people seem to be under the impression that the inclusion of the Live View feature will enable them to use the XSi/450D as they do point-and-shoot digital cameras, to compose their shots. That is not the case. You can't really make a functioning use of the Live View feature unless the camera's securely mounted on a tripod or on a flat surface. Both Live View focusing modes, while precise, are too slow to be used for hand-held shooting.

Having said that, there is one use of Live View in hand-held shooting that I've come to value. When shooting overhead or over an obstacle, I can, with the same hand holding the camera, trigger the Live View, compose the scene through the LCD monitor (even if it's out of focus, it's easy to get the general framing right), disable Live View, and take the photo normally. With a little practice, this can be accomplished very quickly. Very handy when you're just holding the camera overhead and hoping for the best.

The Direct Print button that's been much ridiculed and maligned in most Canon cameras now double as the white balance menu button. The Set button in the middle of the four-direction arrow keys can be programmed for a number of different functions: Change image quality, flash exposure compensation, LCD monitor on/off (same as Display button, but can be triggered by the same hand holding the camera), and Menu display (again, can be triggered by the same hand holding the camera).

There is a dedicated ISO button, which is also very welcome. It can easily be accessed during shooting with the right thumb, thereby minimizing the interruption to shooting.

The battery life seems very good. I've shot about 500+ shots on a single charge and the status monitor is still showing charge at full.

I'm using Transcend 8GB Class 6 SDHC card with it. At ISO 100, the camera reports it can fit 396 RAW+JPG (highest quality) on it, but in reality it can probably fit about 420-450 (the camera's always conservative when estimating). With RAW only, it can fit 507. With highest quality JPG, it can fit 1,822. Note that as ISO increases, so do the file sizes and thus you can store less images per card. For example, on ISO 1600, the same card can only hold 323 images, compared to 396 at ISO 100.

My only gripe, and this is more about me than the camera, is the RAW+JPG buffer. I always shoot RAW+JPG, and the buffer will only hold four images at that speed (this is a limitation that's built into the camera's memory buffer system, and thus using a fast memory card doesn't help--see p.64 of the manual). When the buffer's full, you can take two additional images at about a frame a second, then have to wait until the buffer empties (finishes writing to the memory card). When shooting RAW only, it's 6 images. When shooting JPG only, then it's no problem at more than 50 frames. I've found myself switching the mode dial to Sports mode when I'm shooting a fast-moving subject and the buffer simply can't keep up with it. Well, that's why Canon produces different grades and ranges of DSLRs.

I've uploaded some photos that I shot of the local wildlife. Most if not all of those were taken with the EF 70-200mm f/4 L lens.

All in all, it's a fantastic camera. Pretty amazing to see how far the entry-level DSLRs have come in just a few years in terms of features, interface, ergonomics, and quality. I'm very pleased with my purchase and intend to have lots of fun shooting pictures with it.

- Since I have most of my music files ripped in WMA format, I've been looking for a flash MP3 player to compete with the IPOD Nano. After much research, I decided to take a chance on this newly released player.

I'm very impressed to start. The player is small (just a bit thicker than the Nano), and fairly light. The screen shows excellent color- based on the menus. I'm not planning to use it much for video or photos, so I'm not very concerned with the screen size, which is expectedly small. The player in general is very easy to use. I looked over the quick reference guide and didn't even bother with the user guide (user guide is in PDF format on the cd-rom.) The overall appearance is excellent.

You can load music by dragging and dropping, or using Windows Media Player 10. I prefer to use WMP10 to sync, since I have my music organized well. Syncing in this manner was very simple. I didn't encounter any issues with the first two syncs I've performed. If you have your id3 tags correct, the Sansa will display your music by Artist, Album, Songs, or Genere. There's also a "To Go playlist". The Sansa sorted my music just fine. The display is informative when playing music. The sound so far is excellent. I've used a few different headsets to test it and have no complaints.

The center dial/wheel rotates and glows in a bright blue. It allows you to scroll through menu items and to increase/decrease the volume. The directional buttons around the wheel are a little difficult to use with only one hand. Because the center dial is raised so much, you end up needing to use the tips of your fingers to press the buttons that surround it. I suppose it will take a little getting used to- but it's not a dealbreaker for me.

Following the precedent set by other companies. The USB connector is of course proprietary. This is currently the only way to charge the Sansa, so don't lose it. I don't see any wall/travel charges offered yet- even at the Sandisk Website. Since it's new- there aren't really any accessories offered. This isn't a concern to me personally- so I bought it anyway. I definitely would like a separate charging apparatus, rather than having to charge via USB- so I hope Sandisk offers such an item, sooner rather than later.

It comes with a small velvet pouch. I'll be searching for some sort of "skin" to protect the player, instead of relying on the pouch. It's just not efficient if you want to protect and use the player at the same time.

Again, please understand when reading this, that my primary use is for music. All the other features are merely a bonus for me. So if you're looking for something to use regularly to play video, pics, etc- please do your homework to see if the player is a good fit for your needs. Most of the time when I read negative reviews, it's because the reviewer bought something that did not fit their needs. Companies are in business to sell their products- do your own research to determine if the product is right for you.

- When I finally decided to give in to the iPod craze, I went looking at Best Buy for them. At first I planned on getting a ipod nano, but then I noticed this little guy. My friend has a nano and honestly I think this SanDisk is way better. FM tuner, can accept pictures and videos. The record (voice or radio) feature is sweet and it will know what order to put songs in when you transfer an album into it (as well as give you the cover artwork). The menus and LSD screen are top notch as well.

It can only be charged in a USB slot.. which might bug some people. I usually charge it in my Xbox 360 USB slot while i'm playing games.

- In our 10-animal household (dogs and cats), fur is everywhere. I thought I had found the holy grail of grooming tools in the Zoom Groom (they make different models for dogs and for cats), which removes a lot of fur without giving the animal an unpleasant experience. Now I think the Zoom Groom is a great little brush, but when it comes to amount of fur removed, it's got nothin' on the Furminator. Even my long-hair cat who dislikes being groomed will let me use the Furminator on her for a good long stretch.

How does it work? Excellent question; I still can't figure it out exactly after extensive use, but I can tell you what it does NOT do. It doesn't pull or cut the hair; the comb-style "blade" does not have a sharp edge. Also, it doesn't cause discomfort for the animal; mine all seem to enjoy it very much, like it gives a pleasant scratching sensation. (I ran it along my own arm as a test, and experienced the same.)

If you go to the Furminator website and watch the grooming videos there, you will see tremendous amounts of fur being removed from dogs and cats after they have been groomed using a few different styles of grooming tools. These videos are not faked; I could not believe the piles and piles of fur I removed from my critters with the Furminator, even after using a fine-toothed flea comb on them. Their coats are so soft after I groom them, and the amount of hair shed on my furniture and floors actually seems to have decreased! Plus the critters -- especially those with heavy undercoats for winter warmth -- are way more comfy in the summer heat.

A downside -- the manufacturer does suggest you will need to buy replacement blades to maintain the performance of this tool; I am not sure how one can tell if the blade is "dull" but perhaps it will become clear after more use. All in all, however, the price is well worth the performance of this high-quality tool.

UPDATE: I wanted to add that this tool is designed to be used on clean(ish), dry, tangle-free fur. If the coat has more than a couple of burrs or tangles, use a different kind of tool (scissors or a comb) to remove these first before grooming, as the Furminator will just skim right over these areas. Also, it will not work very effectively on wet or really grubby fur; this is not the tool to reach for right after your dog's been swimming!

- I feel compelled to balance the...interesting...comment below. This tool is not meant for humans; likewise, it (as with any other intensive grooming tool) should not be used repeatedly over one area. Because it pulls coat, it can irritate the skin with overuse. *It does not conntain any blades.* However, cats can be very skin sensitive (I haven't tried it on my cat, she doesn't like much handling).

Having used it now on four dogs, I can say that dogs *love* the Furminator. Even my former-stray, who is hestitant about grooming because she had skin problems when I adopted her, will follow me around wanting to be groomed when I pick up the Furminator and stay calm and relaxed while I use it. It also pulls more undercoat than any tool I've ever tried, so I happen to love it too! However, despite what it says above, it does not appear to accomplish much with short-haired dogs (which makes sense, given their lack of undercoat).

- I've long thought about buying an iPod, but the price always held me back. When Apple recently lowered the price of the shuffle, I jumped. But I did spend a little extra and buy the 2 GB model. I mean, for $20 more, who wouldn't?

This model actually allows you to input 1.89 Gigs of music. Why the difference? Because the iPod needs some space for the software. Depending on the size of the songs, that translates to roughly 500 songs. The first time around, I got 498 songs on it, and I had three 11 minutes song included. I just reloaded and got 528 songs on. I did use a different computer (although it had to erase everything because it only connects with one computer at a time), but it looked like it grabbed shorter songs this time.

The iPod comes with everything you need to get started. You've got the device itself, the ear bud headphones, and the docking device. You use this device to connect your iPod to your computer. While connected, you can load songs from iTunes and charge the device.

And that's one of the weaknesses of the device (and Apple in general). You can only load songs from their music player. Fortunately, anyone can download iTunes from Apple for free, so that isn't an issue. But it would be nice if it worked with other programs. Additionally, you must plug it into a computer to charge it.

Loading songs is pretty straight forward. You can either create a play list for it to load or have it load up random songs.

The device is small and lightweight. But what I love is the build in clip that allows you to attach it to any article of clothing. I bought it mainly to use while running or working out. It's perfect for that. Just clip it and forget about it. And, at half an ounce, it is so lightweight you don't even notice it.

The controls are well laid out and easy and obvious to use.

My biggest complaint is one I knew I would have before I bought it. If you've put one song on the iPod and decide that is the one you really want to hear, good luck finding it. There is no screen. You can tell it to play in shuffle or in playlist order. But you have to skip tons of songs to find the one you want.

The battery lasts about 12 hours. And with 500 songs, you get over 30 hours of music. So you really don't need all those songs since you could just pick different songs every time you charge it. The only time it indicates battery strength is when you first turn it one, which seems strange. If you don't check as soon as you turn it off, you might turn it on some time to find it is out of juice.

I also wish the noise level was standardized. I have to adjust the volume on practically every song.

So do you really need the added storage capacity of the 2 GB model? That's for you to decide. But if you just want something to play a few random songs for you while you do other things, this is a great model to get.

- The third generation of the iPod Shuffle is similar to the second. It's a great MP3 player for working out or running, especially if you are a die-hard Apple fan. However, the steep price means you had better review all your options before you choose this.

The Form Factor

This little guy is small! The body has a spring loaded clip on the back so you can clip it to your shirt without any extra case. Apple added a few extra color options, including the popular purple. It comes in a composite case. The 2nd generation's case seemed a little bit more durable.

The basic controls remain the same (fast forward, rewind, pause, and play) to access your music collection. There is a headphone jack which you also use to mount this on the sync dock. A standard USB B port would have been preferable to this as well.

Storage Capacity

Apple made it available only in 1GB sizes, same as the 2nd generation. It would have made more sense to bump it up to at least 2GB. The competing Zen Stone Plus by Creative offers 2GB (twice the songs), an FM tuner and the ability to see song titles for less money. Sandisk also has some lower capacity Sansa models at similar price points.

Durability

Apple definitely deserves point for the more durable player in this group. Even with the new player composite body, these guys do hold up to a lot of abuse.

Software

When you only have 1GB to fill, having to use iTunes software to do it seems excessive. Competing players have even worse software, but allow you to drag and drop files on these devices like USB thumb drives. Once again, if you LOVE Apple and iTunes, the software is not going to be an issue for you.

For those that care about file options, Apple's software allows only MP3 and AAC. You can convert other formats to these, but be aware of the limits.

Sound

The sound this unit produces is pretty good for it's size. However, it's just ok. I still feel the first generation shuffle sounded much better, but the trade off was it was much longer.

Price Point

This unit is pricy at about $80. As of October 2007, 1GB of flash memory is going for under $10 retail. That's what makes this price somewhat hard to swallow. Once again, Apple's reputation is well deserved. This particular model requires you to pay a premium for it.

If you just want a really small player and you are open to brands beyond Apple, the Creative Zen Stone gives you 1GB for $40 and 2GB for $50. Sandisk's Clip has similarly priced models. While it doesn't have some extras like the stopwatch included with the Creative, it does have the integrated clip like the Shuffle.

If you must have Apple and need a small player for high impact workouts, this is it. If you want to stay with Apple and can afford it, stepping up to the Apple iPod nano 4GB will cost you $140 ($60 more) but gives you 4 times the capacity and the ability to play video.

Overall this is a good player at a price that could be less. Weigh your options and choose the player that's right for you. Enjoy!!!

- Despite the rave reviews here on amazon and on other sites, I was not expecting much with such a low price. My expectations were certainly rewarded with an amazing value, a great vacuum, and the usual Amazon speedy delivery. It is really hard to believe that such a good product could be so inexpensive, even if it is made in Mexico. The build quality is excellent. However, for someone tall, like me, (6'4") the handle is not long enough, the bag is on the small side, and the unit is noisy (but not any more so than other vacuums I have had that were 3x the price), but those are the only negatives after a week of use. Instead of smelling dust while vacuuming, the air coming out of the vacuum is actually fresher and cleaner smelling than the air in the room. Searching amazon, one can find belts for $3 or less and bags less than $1 in quantity, so the unit should be inexpensive to operate. If I get five years out of the unit, I will be more than satisfied.

- I love this one-piece bottle, especially for camping. It is durable, holds more fluid than many other bottles and it comes in several colors so each camper can have their own color and not have to write names. The only way I'd want to improve on the bottle is to have a clip attached to it so you could carry it more easily. It is water tight and can fit in packs very well. The first few times using this be prepared for a very matallic taste but that does disappear.

- I recently purchased this bottle at a local health food store to replace my heavy glass bottles that I use for drinking water. Three negatives I've found with this bottle: 1) I've heard that stainless steel is as light as plastic but I haven't found this to be the case. Stainless is safer than glass where breakage is concerned but not lighter when filled with liquid. 2) The cap on the bottle is made of plastic and the inside threads of the bottle are stainless. Needless to say, they don't fit well together and so it leaks. 3) The cap has a carabiner attached which makes it awkward to turn. It would be much easier if the carabiner and ring were attached to the bottle rather than the cap. Although stainless steel is an excellent alternative to plastic and safer than glass, I'm going to return this bottle and look for a different design.

- I have owned 3 KK bottles for over a year now and love them. They all have the loop ss cap and have never leaked. They clean easily, are lightweight, and the water tastes great. They have been dropped several times, and are fine even though they have dents. I would reccommend these water bottles to anyone! I'm about to purchase a KK sippee for my baby. After reading the review from the person comparing to Sigg, I decided to research the Sigg. After searching for over 15 minutes on the sigg.com website, I could not find any information on the composition of their aluminum bottle liner. I then queried the web and found the USA Sigg website (mysigg.com/faq) and this is what i found regarding the liner composition: "The ingredients (like the formula for Coca-Cola) remain secret and unavailable to 3rd parties so as to ensure SIGG retains its competitive advantage. The key of course is that the SIGG liner is FDA approved and independently tested to be taste and scent inert - and resistant to any leaching (0.0%) so 100% safe." I, personally, do not take corporations 'word for it' that something is safe, and by no means do I trust the FDA's standards. Saying something is secret definitely does not increase my trust. I am a hydrogeologist and have spent hundreds of hours testing water and reviewing lab reports. Simply stating that there is no leaching does not mean much to me. For ex, under what conditions were the bottles tested? -- Sitting in a hot car for hours, sitting in the sun, carried in a pack for hours, etc. These are real conditions for water bottle usage. In addition, why is there not a link to the lab reports showing what was tested for, when, and by whom? I would think this important information would be listed on their flashy website. I am not associated whatsoever with Klean Kanteen or anyone else, simply a crazy researcher/mom trying to find information. I decided the Klean Kanteens are still the best choice - no mystery in stainless steel construction. According to KK website, "Stainless steel is easy to clean, durable, inert, sanitary, toxin-free, and non-leaching." Lastly, the designs are not fancy on the KK, however their is no paint to peel (this happens on the siggs) which would be a hazard for my baby who puts everything in his mouth. Consumer awareness is what pushes corporations into publishing important health information, such as materials & chemicals used (liner composition) and lab reports veryifying that something is indeed 'safe' and has been tested adequately. Don't let my opinion convince you, you be the judge...

A Must for the Allergic I am very allergic to all kinds of perfumes and scents, and I have a witchy sense of smell. I can't use any of the air fresheners, scented candles, or carpet cleaners sold in stores. This product is a miracle for me. It is made with only natural ingrediants, and I have never had a problem with its mild fresh pine/sage scent, in fact I like it. It really does neutralize, you can only smell it when you first put it out. We have two large dogs, and this product absorbs all those wet dog and oily winter coat odors. I put it in little bowls throughout my house all year long, but particularly in the humid summer weather. I put it in closets, the attic, and even in the kitchen to absorb everyday food odors. The spray is a must for cars, bathrooms, and heavy cooking odors like bacon and garlic. My husband, who smokes, uses it to spray on himself before business meetings. It completely takes away the smell of smoke from his clothes and hair, and disipates in 30 seconds, so he doesn't walk around smelling like a forest. The gel beads do dissolve quikly(within 2 weeks for about 4 ounces) when it's humid, the exception is in closets. This can become expensive if you're using it all around your house. But it's totally worth the expense to me. In winter though, it will last a few months. I've never reviewed anything before, but I just had to let people know just how great this product is.
LITTLE MIRACLE With all of the rain etc. there have been plenty of musty smells to deal with. Fresh Wave takes care of it all and we had great service when we ordered the product. We are happy all of the way around.

- One more positive review to throw in for the JBL On Tour. We purchased the JBL OnTour to use while we were in the hospital laboring with our new son. It was a perfect fit! We plugged our Sansa in and it played just great. The sound these speakers generate is plenty for a smallish room. Don't expect to use them to blast music at a party or in a big room, but in a small to middle-sized room (someone mentioned a dorm room; that would be perfect) they are ideal. We didn't turn them up extremely high (and note that you can adjust the volume on the MP3 player also to increase volume), but the sound was very good. Highly recommended!

- I found this watch and was pretty impressed with the look, the high tech gadgetry and the artsy look about it and then, I read the reviews, all the reviews.

I found myself torn between buy or do not buy as there was so much negative about the band. After thinking it over for several days I looked at it one more time and scrolled down and low and behold I found where the BAND MEASURED 19.5 CENTIMETERS. My dilemma was over. I got a tape measure and measured my wrist, fit well within the 19.5 centimeters and it was a done deal, I bought it!

Now, I love it. Its design is masculine, its a definite conversation piece (no way around it) and its look is like nothing else I have seen in a watch. I can wear it with casual wear and can wear it with more formal wear, no problem. Once you get the hang of how it works, it is easy to tell the time and actually is fun to teach others at a gathering.

So, IF your wrist is smaller than 19.5 centimeters by a couple (2) inches you will have no problem with this watch. The directions are clear and concise and its design, flawless. For a guy that is looking for a cutting edge timepiece, THIS IS IT without question. IF you are that guy and your wrist is too large, buy it and have a different band put on it (wow, I never thought of that!). It is not that expensive to have a nice watch band put on a watch. The watch is comfortable to wear and the time has been quite accurate thus far. It's one of those, 'why didn't I think of that?' for your timepiece collection. The price is right too!

A must have for the guru gadget kinda dude (definitely NOT a ladies timepiece as the face is too large). You WILL NOT be disappointed and to those that were, well sorry you were unable to read as the length is under product information in BLACK AND WHITE!!!

- I lover this watch. Finally a watch that fits my wrist! I will have to say don't buy this watch if you have a big wrist because the watch band is leather and not very big but for me it fits good. The stitching on the band is real nice too. This is a well made watch and I was not disappointed when it arrived. I read reviews first and saw where the band was small for some people. I can't wear a lot of metal either because it breaks me out so the leather band was a nice feature. The LCD lights are bright enough to see during the day and even in sunlight. I could not buy this from tokyoflash.com because they did not have the blue one I wanted. It comes in red, blue or green. Really nice watch for a ladys wrist.

- Ignore the nonsense one-star reviewer below. If you want a "useful" watch that you can use tell the time in bright daylight, go to your grandmother's watch shop and get a Seiko. This watch is meant to be worn out on the town, where it lights up the night at cocktail lounges and spurs conversation with interesting people! I own the Pimpin Ain't Easy + Blue LED watch (the SS version), and it is spectacular. The lights are bright and vibrant, and it never ceases to entertain. Physically, it's durable and comfortable.

Ironically (given the one-star review), this is one of the easiest ToykoFlash watches to read. The left-most column (numbered 01-12) lights up to the hour, and the other five columns (end-rows numbered 05-60) combine to tell you the minutes.

Bottom line: This is an extremely cool accessory if you like to go out, be silly, and have some fun!

- The display is difficult to see in the daylight. Also, time isn't always displayed. By default the watch's display is off and you have to push a button for the date/time to display. Not very useful at all..

- We were entertaining and I didn't have time to whip up our usual recipe. A quick search on the net came up with what is apparently the hands down only decent ready-made mix on the market: Dr. Swami & Bone Daddy's Top Shelf Margarita Mix. After fiddling with just how much liquid to ice makes us happy, we set down to blend. WOW!!!! No doubt about it, this is one great blender. Easy to use, (EVEN after a few margaritas!)

We've now taken to using it with juices, in fact, I'm THRILLED that the teenagers are using it to brew up juice smoothies as adding all that ice cuts down on how much sugar they're consuming! We're so impressed with the unit that we're ordering another for our vacation home.

- My sister and I got this for my dad for fathers day. This last weekend we got to try it out.

Ice comes out beautiful. Shaved ice made for perfectly slushy margaritas. I even make the kids sno cones by just hitting the shave only and topping with that syrup you can buy at the store.

Important: Do not use margarita mixes. The thing comes out watery. We use frozen limeade mix. It's relatively cheap and I think the frozen consistency helps make the drink more slushy. You can adjust the amount to your taste. We used over a half can full for a real tart margarita.

Some may have better luck with margarita mix but for us after about 4 tries and each too watery we decided to go with the limeade and it came out great every time.

I love this machine. I am jealous my dad has one and strongly hinted to everyone at the party that this would be a great gift idea for me. Hopefully I'll get one for christmas.

Is it expensive? Of course. Is it a real cool toy? Oh yes!!! It's a monster size unit, but it is so fun to use it became a focal point at the party with everybody standing around talking while we made the drinks. My dad loves it for the ease of use. I love it 'cause I can have margaritas anytime.

- I bought mine over a year ago, in Tokyo (Amazon didn't have them then) and
it's still going strong on the original batteries. The manual claims they should
last 1 year, and it's been more like 18 months for me.

Figuring out how to read it is not difficult; I keep mine in 24-hour mode to make
it a bit more interesting. :) It's a good icebreaker but the flip side of that is
that it's a bit "attention-getting" which is either good or bad depending on the
situation (if you don't like that, turn it around).

The only thing I wish it had were the ability to change the "every minute flash"
from 6PM to 1 AM to "user defined time". C'est la vie. :) It's built like a
tank (and the slots are deep enough to easily protect the LEDs; this is a VERY
TOUGH watch, dispite being a very dressy watch as well. I suspect it could take
a hit anywhaer from a BB gun and show little to no damage.

Yes, it does have the "Cylon Style" - that's fine. I like Battlestar and it's
a nice little overtone.

Five stars for me. I only wear mine (multicolored) when I want to get a bit
of attention- but that's what it's designed for and thus it is a complete success.

- It is a well-built, cool-looking watch. However, before you buy it, make sure you look into the measurements of the watch first. It is heavy and huge! If you have big arms/wrists, then it would fit you just fine. Otherwise, you would look like a person with a home-confined cuff. It is a great watch, but not for everyone.

- When the Margaritaville DM2000 Premium Frozen Concoction Maker arrived it was very easy to setup. The instructions were straightforward and in no time the step-by-step instructions had the machine ready to produce some delicious frozen beverages. The craftsmanship and quality were apparent at the onset, and the weight of the machine gave a certain feel of durability. - good but not great
I have used Bounce fabric softener sheets for many years now with great satisfaction. I recently tried a newer type of Bounce that has the Fabreze Fresh Scent of "meadows and rain;" and it works great. As Amazon correctly notes, these softener sheets help to make the clothing and anything else like towels in the clothes dryer much, much softer and they reduce static cling remarkably well. The mildly flowery scent is not too heavy--just enough to give your clothing a fresh, newly washed scent to it. It shouldn't overwhelm you at all.

Although people say just throw one in at the top of the clothing just before you start the clothes dryer, I myself find one sheet or even two to be insufficient. I use about five or six sheets per wash because I like my clothing extra soft. Just throw in a sheet after you place a bunch of clothing into the dryer; and after you place more clothing in the dryer add another sheet, and so on. This method would be rather important for anyone with sensitive skin, too.

Bounce advertises on the box that you can use them to add a fresh scent or take away foul odors in places like a dresser drawer, a garbage can and even a sneaker or two. However, I cannot comment on this because I have only used them in my dryer. I suppose it would probably work.

There are definitely two issues, however: Don't use this product when drying anything that is flame resistant. It WILL reduce the flame resistance of the clothing. Moreover, if you are rather sensitive to any type of perfumed scent you almost certainly want to use another type of fabric softener in your clothes dryer. In addition, I personally have to use more than one or two sheets to get my clothes as soft as I want them to be. Unfortunately, I have to take off one and one half stars for all three issues to make this a three and one half star review.

Overall, these bounce fabric softener sheets are a good product because all too often the dryer leaves your clothing feeling "hard" or even somewhat "scratchy" up against your skin. The fabric softener sheets are packaged in small boxes to make them easy to carry if you need to travel to use a laundromat, too.

Three and one-half stars.

- This is less a "pros and cons" review than a hopefully useful commentary about the Kindle compared with other eReaders and what it means for the eBook industry. (I believe that everything has changed with the Kindle's creation.)

For many years I have been an avid reader of eBooks using almost every eReading device on the market. So as an early-adopter of techie gadgets I had been anxiously awaiting Amazon's Kindle since its first rumors. So I immediately purchased it both out of curiosity and hoping for a better "next generation" eBook solution. In case you're wondering whether I'm "that" Steve Gibson, I probably am -- I'm the guy who gets Google's first three or four links when Googling my name.

I was driven to write this review because it is somewhat distressing and, it seems to me, a bit unfair for the Kindle's average review rating to be dragged so far down by Kindle NON-OWNERS who, judging from their comments, seem to be quite annoyed by all of the positive comments about a device that's expensive, monochrome, not a general purpose media player, unable to leap tall buildings, or in some way less than they were expecting, wanting, or hoping. In contrast to non-owners, the people who actually HAVE Kindle's appear to universally love it, though with very valid caveats. I think of this as "The TiVo Effect" since, for the right sort of user, the Kindle will be life-changing ... but it certainly won't be that for everyone. Although it took me a few days to get completely comfortable with it, I am now hooked.

So, for what it's worth, if this posting is discovered by any truly interested pre-purchasers, I hope that the following commentary might place the Kindle in "perspective" and be of some value to you. - Wow I'm shocked at the other customer's negative review. I have plantar fasciitis, and heel pain is a daily stress for me. Fit Flops have been the only footwear that's helped ease my foot pain. I'm a nurse so I'm on my feet all day, and I've also developed some knee and lower back pain from standing so much. I don't feel any knee or back pain when wearing these, and my heel pain decreases DRAMATICALLY.

One thing to know about these: you should order one size DOWN than your usual shoe size. That might have been the problem with the previous reviewer. I bought these from a physical store and another woman (buying her 2nd pair of Fit Flops) gave me that tip. They felt too tight for the first day or two, but they will stretch and mold to your foot.

I emailed the company to compliment them about these sandals, and encouraged them to create clogs or other closed-toe footwear (something more appropriate for work) and they emailed me the next day saying they have a clog in the works and some kind of athletic shoe that they plan to release in the winter. I'll be buying those for sure!

The case fits beautifully and is molded to conform to the profile of the two buttons on the Touch ( the power button and the main menu button ). One thing I really like is that unlike other protective cases, this one does not increase the profile of the iPod to the point that it doesn ' t fit into a cradle. I had to turn off the auto - vague attribute, which is fine because it ' s not object I was too concerned with. I just crystallize the screen brightness manually.

A demon whose true name is Anung un Rama, Hellboy was brought to Earth as an infant by Nazi occultists. He was rescued by the Allied Forces, and raised by the U.S.A.'s Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD). Hellboy grew up to be a large, red-skinned demon with a tail, horns (which he filed off, leaving behind the signature circular stumps on his forehead), and an oversized right hand made of stone. In the introduction to Odd Jobs he is described as smelling of dry-roasted peanuts. Although a bit gruff, he shows none of the malevolence thought to be intrinsic to demons, and works with other strange creatures in the BPRD. The character has been featured in a sequence of comic book mini-series published by Dark Horse Comics, influenced by vintage adventure and horror fiction.

Amazing relief When I bought this, I was skeptical. I am not only allergic to dust, but also to heavy fragrance and perfumes. The label looked promising. So, I bought it. I just got my watch about 24 hours ago and since the first time I put it on my wrist, it is a INSTANT conversation piece. The watch is flat so for people with big wrists, I can see where it is a "little" uncomfortable but that is pretty much the only con with this watch. Also if you are in a well lit area, you will have to cover the watch to see the time (kinda like if you have a glow in the dark watch in the daytime). The watch is always in battery-save mode so I'm believing that the battery life should be good. This is definitely a unique timepiece that strays FAR AWAY from the norm.

Great product at a good cost!
This is my second Bluetooth headset. The first was a Jabra and it was horrible. No one could hear me clearly and it had a long delay. I was hesitant to get another, but with laws changing in California, I had to get one for the car. I have a Plantronics CS50 wireless headset at the office that works great, so I thought I would try their bluetooth product. Being I have a convertible, I thought I would try the one with the WINDSMART feature. As long as the windows and windscreen are up, it works perfectly with the top down. I have also used it while out sailing, and even on windy days at sea, it works well. The only downside is that the battery is not replacable. I figure it will work a couple of years before the battery dies, and by then technology will have changed, so who cares!!! GREAT PRODUCT! I am sold on bluetooth now.

Instead of keeping a journal of daily entries for how many steps I walk each day, you just plug the device into the computer, hit download and it's there for you. you can print out daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports. This can also keep track of your blood pressure and pulse. The only drawback is that there are no written instructions with the device. It all comes from the computer software that comes with the device.

Great Product!
I am really happy with this pedometer. Although I haven't tried the software/pc integration feature yet, I found it easy to program and it seems to be very accurate. The battery hasn't died (I saw some reviewers complain about this) and I've had the unit for 2 weeks and use it every day.

Very useful item!!
I am struggling with back issues and this product has been a life saver on the days when I am in a lot of pain. I like the contoured shape as well as the release feature; it doesn't always release, but I have figured out not to push too much paper into it first. It is a comfortable product for such a task.

Nice product but don't fill up all the way...
This is a nicely made product. The buttons are easy to push to dispense the soap and shampoo. Labels are included in various languages which is a fun thing if you want to do a European spa theme in your bathroom like I did. However I caution against filling it all the way up - mine falls down if I put too much liquid in it but adheres fine as long as I don't do that. Just a tad inconvenient to have to refill more frequently, but I still give it four stars
